More About Me

Since this is mostly a way for me to keep in touch with family and friends you probably already know me. If you just stumbled on this mess and want to know more about me then this is for you.

 

I have been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2014 and an Emergency Nurse Practitioner since 2021. I am set to join the Foreign Service in April of 2022. That's the biggest reason for this blog. I want to share my adventures and am excited about where the service will take me. My first post tells the story of my journey to the Foreign Service.  You can find it here

 

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I say this because it definitely shapes my world view. I may also mention wards or branches or other language that might be confuse people unfamiliar with the LDS people. I don't always notice. Feel free to ask. I'm happy to answer or explain. I am very interested in other religions and cultures (hence foreign service) and would love to learn about yours in exchange.

 

Oakley is the current love of my life. He is a 10 yr old border collie who is ready to accompany me around the world. I think it's dog law that if he pees on every continent then he owns the world. He will be a benevolent master with treats and belly rubs for all so I wouldn't worry to much if I were you.

 

My interests include food, hiking, kayaking, and reading. Kayaking is a new-found love so I am still learning. I mostly like still water excursions.  It is a poorly held secret that I love Halloween and will find any excuse to rock a costume. Halloween or not. You know, you don't have to wait for once a year holiday. You can just invite friends over and go nuts.
